Curation of the Spring 2021 Media Arts and Culture Cinematheque Series
Website
Oxy Cinematheque is an annual series of film/media events curated by Occidental’s Media Arts and Culture Department that are free and open to the public. Organized around a new theme each year, the series is designed to bring together the college and Los Angeles communities. This year’s program is curated by Visiting Assistant Professor Dr. Vivian Wenli Lin in conjunction with the MAC 250 Media Activism Through Participatory Video course. The series will feature practitioners and filmmakers working with participatory methodologies to create media with and alongside disadvantaged or migrant communities.
Events are sponsored by the Media Arts & Culture Department, the Mellon Foundation, the Remsen Bird Fund and the Center for Community Based Learning at Occidental College.
