ASSIGNMENT: Write a one page paper answering the question, "Have you been stereotyped, if not, have you placed stereotypes onto other people?" Bring in one example from a book, magazine, television, or movie to support this stereotype.
Week 2 - The Story
How to structure a story / Introduction to the camera and storyboarding / Basic lighting

ASSIGNMENT: Create a storyboard using your writing as a subject. Incorporate ideas relevant to your identity such as gender, sexuality, family, culture, music, etc.
Week 3 - On The Street

ASSIGNMENT: Begin scouting locations for video shoots, find props, actors, etc. Finalize storyboards.
Week 4 - Production
SHOOTING: Group 1 -Videotape stories/footage at chosen locations/ Work together to prepare set, lighting, sound, etc.
Each takes turn as director, cinematographer, grip

Week 5 - Production
SHOOTING: Group 2
ASSIGNMENT: Prepare and practice any voiceover narrations/scripts/sounds
Week 6 - Editing
The Editing Process: Introduction to iMovie, Final Cut Pro
ACTIVITY: Transcribing, logging and capturing video / Creating ins and outs / Create the first assembly / Recording audio overdubs and narration using Pro Tools

ASSIGNMENT: Review transcriptions and piece together story structure. Prepare pictures/audio/music to bring in for editing.
Week 7 - Post Production
EDITING: Creating a rough cut / Import audio/picture files/music
ASSIGNMENT: Brainstorm for titles and prepare credit list. Find a text layout in a magazine, newspaper, video that you like.
Week 8 - Techniques
TECHNIQUES: Transitions, Titles, Subtitles, and Special Effects
